A veteran operator who was only weeks away from retirement suffered a severe injury when he reached across the mill to remove a loose piece.

Solution

In this case, the operator was injured doing something he had done many times before. However, this time the operator's shirt tail became caught in the mill. To reduce the risk of this type of accident from happening again, Stronghold implemented a vertical boring mill shield that would prevent clothing from getting caught in the machine.
