Full Description

Danray Products' snake-arm shields are designed to apply to a wide variety of machinery and equipment that require safeguarding. The shields have the ability to be moved easily in and out of the safeguarded position for tool changes or they can be readjusted to fit various machine applications.

The shields are made of 3/16"-thick (0.177" ± 5%) polished, UV-stabilized polycarbonate. The shields are virtually unbreakable with 250 times the impact strength of float glass and 30 times that of acrylic.

The snake arms hold a shield in the position where it is needed. These heavy-duty arms are made of spring steel that is covered with vinyl to protect them from grease, oil, and contaminants that would weaken their holding ability. They offer practically unlimited adjustment possibilities and long-term holding power.

Each shield assembly consists of a winged polycarbonate shield that is 3/16" thick, a shield bracket assembly, a snake arm with a direct-mount base, and mounting hardware. The direct-mount base can be fastened to most any flat surface at least 2" x 1" with the included mounting hardware (two ¼"-20 x ¾" hex socket-head cap screws, two ¼"-20 nylon-insert hex locknuts, and two No. 12 pan-head Phillips x 1" zinc-plated sheet-metal screws).

Optional mounting bases and brackets are available that can be added to the direct-mount base to provide additional mounting flexibility: magnetic base, C-clamp base, and horizontal and vertical right-angle brackets.
